Did you know coral reefs occupy less than 1% of the ocean, yet more than 25% of all marine life is found there? Adopt A Reef and you will protect the coral reefs, fishes, and people in Palau, Micronesia, and the Parque Nacional Del Este, Dominican Republic. Coral reef projects worldwide ensure that corals, the largest living structures on the planet, will continue to support the greatest diversity of life on Earth.
Considered one of the seven underwater wonders of the world, Palau is known for its magnificent diversity of coral reefs and fishes. The region's life-sustaining natural systems have reached a critical tipping point that calls for immediate action and long-term support.
This national park is situated on the southeastern tip of the Dominican Republic. The park's 190,267 acre intact coastal ecosystem is prime terrestrial and marine habitat that provides nesting sites for four species of turtles: loggerhead, green, hawksbill and leatherback. Funds raised will support ecological monitoring, research and protection for the park.
