Sources for Our
Information
In addition to the books mentioned at the back of Eating to Save the
Earth, our sources include scientific publications such as Nature,
Science, Scientific American, Science News, Journal of the American Dietetic
Association, Journal of Nutrition Education, and Food Review. We read
reports from the federal agencies Environmental Protection Agency, US
Department of Agriculture, and Office of Technology Assessment. We also
drew from daily newspapers such as the New York Times and from the newsletter
from Business for Social Responsibility. We attended conferences of farmers,
farm alliances, and social scientists, and interviewed experts in various
food-related fields. There are over 400 footnotes which explain where
we got our information. To see the full file, request en email version
from Linda Riebel at lriebel@saybrook.edu.
